set up stands yesterday,did a little turk hunting almost successful but for one raccoon that decided to fall out of a tree after getting on a bad branch and into the flock and scatter them before a shot could be fired..a first for me tough luck but got a good laugh out of it...I dont know who was more surprised....my hunting partner and me or the raccoon! Havent been on much lately, did some muzzleloading but the weather has been really nasty here in NY, like the tropics rain, cold, rain and rain some more...lots of flooding and not nice at all...woods are mud holes hoping it dries up soon to get theladder stands up. It's been a tough year in central NY due to the weather and a little health issue of mine.....but...if all works out I still have a couple of weeks but the monsoon season has to stop...its gonna be a tough nesting season for the turks if the weather dosen't straighten out...this weather is no good for the hunter or the turkeys...See More

WELL, Almost back home, its April Fools Day the beginning of trout season in NY and I'll probably wait a few more weeks till the creeks lower a little...Turkey season May 1st..opens on a Sunday and I will probably not go....I like to have a family day on Sunday...but Monday watch out...it is looking up to be a great year for turks and deer........

I had no luck during the early muzzleloading season but most of it I had to spend in Baltimore Md. Monday I will start turkey hunting again in NY and continue to set up some more stands....Now I will see how much deer activity is going on at the place where we hunt.....should be a good year...good luck all.....DPD

Well, it was one of my unsuccessful years, but whenever I'm hunting and out in the great outdoors to me its never a waste. I had many Gobblers answer my calls, had some come in to almost gun range, and saw many deer, coyotes, fox, and all sorts of wildlife. I wasn't successful but I was blessed with seeing God's beauty in this world....Next stop is getting ready for either the fall turkey hunting or maybe early goose in NY as they have become a major problem around here. I have been out several times with rifle and muzzleloader but to me it seems that NY rut is a tad late up north...I'm lucky that I live in the southern tier 5 miles from the northern tier line..and am able to hunt both areas within minutes of each other...but it's still tough when the rut isn't their.
