I should start this by saying, I don't think that I should have called this hog hunt a ladies hog hunt. I have known Nancy Jo (Nock1) through Talk Hunting.com for over a year now, we actually set this hunt up over a year ago and and I know her to be a lady and a hunter, not a lady hunter. I feel like calling the hunt a lady hunt lessens the ability of the ladies that hunted with us this weekend. They are true hunters. I've have to confess that I haven't hunted with too many women in my life, except for my grandmother and the spouse of a friend and they were hunters, so I should not have even thought that I might have to make an extra effort for them on this hunt. I was totally wrong and should have known better, because I have grown up with other strong women, so I apologize for even thinking it. They are hunters period! There will be hunts for them at my place in the future, but it will not be called a Ladies Hunt, it will be a hog hunt with my hunting friends.

Nancy Jo was the only one to harvest a hog this weekend. She and others made an extra effort by going out at 3:30 AM this morning to get on a stand. All of the hunters hunted hard, but sometimes it takes that little extra effort to be successful or lucky or both, I know that I was just getting ready to bring some of the hunters to their morning stand, when she took her hog. The hog was a 130 pound boar, which look to have Russia Boar blood in him. I will post pictures in the photo area of The Deer Camp. Nancy Jo took the boar at 5:30 AM this morning and yes, it is legal to hunt hogs at night in Mississippi, with a light, with any weapon, start March 1st through October 30th.

We had hunters from Alabama, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, Texas, and Missouri. I also had help from two other Talk Hunting, Pro-Staff members. They are John "cookin" Thibideaux and Brent "cobrican" Sawyer. They brought their 4 wheelers to help get everyone on stands and did whatever they could do make this a successful hunt. They went above and beyond the call of duty for the hunt and Talk Hunting. Thanks Brent and John, you are great friends and I know that all of the hunters thank you too. I want to thank Dennis "Elbis" Ledbetter for helping out with some of the cooking while he was there and allowing the hunters to use his camper for the weekend. I also want to thank Chip "Chipper" Maraist for letting us use his camper for hunters this weekend also.

Being at an age that it takes me a while to remember names, I won't try to name all of the hunters, because I will forget someone, but I hope that they join Talk Hunting and visit The Deer Camp and become members of our big family. We had a great time with a lot of great hunters this past weekend, I will remember it until I die and will smile at the memory and I hope to be able to host more hunts in the future.

A last note and thank you goes to Nancy Jo and her husband Richard for every thing that they did taking care of many items on their end, they made my part of this very easy and fun. Ultimately I want to thank Talk Hunting for make all of this possible and letting me have the opportunity to be involved with hunts like this and making so many new friends.

Bubba...we had the best time this past weekend with you and all of the Talkhuntin.com members. You definitely will have more joining after this weekend. Your hospitality and cooking was outstanding. We enjoyed every minute of it and really hated to leave. Thank you again for such a great weekend and for outstanding memories. Nancy Jo
