This past weekend, we planted 16 food plots of varying sizes. It's close to 12 acres. We planted a game mix that is formulated for our area of Southwest Mississippi. The cost of seed and fertilizer has sure gone up, but I'm sure that all of you hunters have found that out already. We had perfect weather for planting. The highs were in the mid 80s and the mornings were in the mid 60s.

We were only missing one member, who had to work. Everyone busted their butts to get it done, with exception of ME! I tried to take it a little easier than usual, since I'm just getting over three weeks of bronchitis and have a bad case of gastritis also. I wasn't having fun, but you have to be there!

Being a little forgetful, I forgot all of my medications at the camp, so I had to go back up today to get them, and found that we had a real good rain since yesterday. How perfect is that timing? Plus, we are expecting more rain this whole week, so our plots should thrive and help put more venison in the freezer.
