This has been a terrible three weeks. I've been sick since before Christmas with what the doctor is calling Asthmatic Bronchitis. I had it for the four weeks before Christmas, then felt good for a week and a half and then had a relapse, but worse this time. I'm on anti-biotic, Albutrol inhaler, and cough syrup of some type. The worst thing is having to miss so much deer hunting. We still have three weeks of hunting, so all is not lost. One more week of rifle and two of primitive weapons.

It will be interesting to see how all of this cold weather has affected the woods and the deer movement. We should now be in post-rut and getting into the secondary rut for the last two weeks of this month. We don't have a strong rut to start with, but the cold weather may be a big factor this year in getting the deer to move.

Just got back from the doctor's office, still got the bronchitis, and the doctor prescribed another round of cortisone and Albutrol, plus added another inhaler, don't know what it is yet. No hunting this weekend.

KraQr, I hope that we can get together when we go to Destin in June. We normally go there the first or second week in June.

I'm feeling a lot better, but still don't feel 100%. I think that I'm going to get another check up and make an appointment with my cardiologist just to be on the safe side. It's hell to get old, but beats the alternative. I've got to see my grandbabies grow up.

Hang in there Bubba. Deer hunting is important but nothing is as important as your health. Without it you cant hunt . Heal up and get to feeling better, the deer will be there when you are feeling well again. I have so many aches and pains everyday when i wake up I finally just quit complaining or my GF would have kicked me out. Get well and GOD bless.

Hey Bubba,
My dad had been struggling with a lung infection of some type...for many months. It was diagnosed as many different things, but nothing was helping. He was a life long smoker and for the past 10 years, has been a closet smoker...so we all felt that his smoking was finally catching up to him. Just recently, he got on some medication and he is completely healed up...and sounds better than he has in a long time....and he feels great. He said he hand drilled 6 holes through the ice this past weekend without even losing his breath. I'll find out more about what his final diagnosis was and what medication he was put on....maybe it will help you.
